In December 2025, Lebanon's annual inflation rate decreased to 12.2%, down from 14.7% in November, reaching its lowest level since February 2020. Price reductions were observed in several sectors, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (14.6% compared to 17% in November), transportation (3.2% compared to 5.4%), education (35.9% compared to 76.8%), clothing and footwear (2% compared to 7.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (8.1% compared to 8.5%), recreation, amusement, and culture (31.6% compared to 39.8%), restaurants and hotels (7.6% compared to 9.7%), and miscellaneous goods and services (21.6% compared to 26.7%). Conversely, deflation intensified in both communication (-0.7% compared to -0.5%) and furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (-1.6% compared to -1.1%). Meanwhile, the cost for housing and utilities rose to 17.2% from 15.4%, while health costs remained unchanged at 2.2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices showed no change in December 2025, following a 0.82% rise in the previous month.
