US 10-Year Yield Holds at Seven-Week Low

The yield on the US 10-year Treasury note hovered around 4.93% on Monday, holding near a seven-week low as investors awaited key US economic releases that could shape expectations for Federal Reserve policy. Market participants are closely watching the October employment report, as well as the ISM manufacturing and services surveys. Several Fed officials are also scheduled to speak this week, potentially providing further guidance on the central bank’s next policy moves.

Last week, the Fed left interest rates unchanged, in line with market expectations, while futures markets are currently pricing in roughly a 75% chance of a rate increase in December. At the same time, oil prices retreated amid reports that President Donald Trump plans to allow more time for diplomatic efforts ahead of the midterm elections. Elsewhere, easing pressure on AI-related stocks after Friday’s steep selloff reduced demand for traditional safe-haven assets.
